You can easily fix your problem by following the steps given below.

Step 1: Check that Your Brother Printer Machine is Turned On

In case you see nothing on your Brother printer machine and the screen is completely blank, then there is a chance that your Brother printer is not turned on. Check and see if the machine has woken up from sleep mode.

In case your Brother printer machine does not wake up, then ensure that it is connected to a working electrical outlet.

Also, check that the switches are turned on. If you find that the machine is not turning on at all, then this solution may not work for you. Moreover, check if any error messages are appearing on your screen like toner empty or Paper Jam. In case an error appears on your screen, then try to fix that problem.

Step 2: Please Ensure That Your Brother Printer Device is Connected to the PC

  • If you are using a USB wire, then ensure that it is connected to both the devices i.e., computer and printer. After that, try to connect to your PC directly and not through a hub.
  • In case you are using an ethernet cable, then ensure that it is connected to your router and printer.  Now, check the IP address by printing the network configuration page.

  • If there is a wireless connection, then directly print the configuration page.

Step 3: Please Ensure That Your Brother Printer is the Default Printer

Launch the printer folder and ensure that there is a checkmark close to the icon of the Brother printer.

  • Launch the Control Panel.
  • Go to Hardware and Sound and then select Devices and Printers.

  • See if there is a check right next to your Brother printer. Select that icon and then right-click on it. After that, choose your Brother printer as the default printer.

Step 4: Delete All the Print Jobs

  • Go to the icon of Brother printer and then right-click on it. After that, click on the option of "see what's printing". Now, go to "Printer" and then "Cancel All Documents".

  • If the option of Cancel All Documents is greyed. Then, select "Open As Administrator". Enter the Administrator Password and Select "Yes".

Step 5: Check the Status of Your Brother Printer

If the printer is offline, then go to the icon of Brother printer and right-click on it. After that, select the option of See what's printing and then Printer. After that, select the option of Use Printer Offline.

In case you find that the printer status is paused, then right-click on your Brother printer icon and select See what's printing, Printer, and then click on Pause Printing.
