Step 3: Locate Print Spooler on the list and make sure it says Started or Running under Status.

Step 4: To view Print Spooler Properties, double-click the Print Spooler icon.

Step 5: Select the General.

Step 6: Select Automatic from the selection under Startup Type, then click the tab close to it.

Step 8: After that, go to the Recovery tab and make the changes below.

  • Set Restart the Service against First Failure.
  • Set Restart the Service against Second Failure.
  • Set Take no Action against Subsequent Failure.
  • Set "Reset fail to count after" to 1 day.
  • Set ‘“Reset service after” to 1 minute.

Step 9: To save the settings, click Apply and then Ok.

Method 4: To Fix an HP Printer that is in an Error State, Clear the Print Spooler Files

The Print Spooler is made up of pending print jobs that have failed to print and are now producing an error status.

Step 1: Open the Local Disk(C) from the This PC menu.

Step 2: Select Printers from the Windows>System32>Spool menu.

Step 3: In the PRINTERS area, you'll notice multiple files; delete them all.

Step 4: Now take this path - Local Disk(C drive)>Windows>System32>Spool>Drivers>W32x86.
